How quickly things can change...

When we found out we were pregnant on October 2nd we were so excited we could barely keep it a secret until the results of the first blood test came back. Looking back, maybe we should have waited to share the news, but as anyone who has ever experienced it knows, you just can't wait to tell everyone the good news.

After a some follow up bloodwork, I got a phone call that made my heart sink. The NP called to tell me that instead of my hormone levels increasing, they were actually decreasing which indicates an impending miscarriage. She said that she did not expect this at all and she actually had to make sure she was looking at the labs from the correct day because she didn't believe that it had gone down. She asked me to come back that Friday for more bloodwork to see if the hormone levels had decreased again.

Today she called to give me the results from Friday's bloodwork. My hormone levels have now dropped almost back to normal and she said that I just need to follow up in a week to make sure that the hormone levels have returned to normal.

We are sad to say the least, but we know that God must have other plans for us and that when the time is right we will again be blessed with another beautiful sweet child just like the one we already have. We are so fortunate just to have Kaitlyn and for now that is enough.
